  • welcome to the hole

    welcome to the hole

Once upon a time, I kept a LiveJournal account, gryphons_hole, a deep, dark, comfy little hole in my brain where I kept notes on my life and queerness.

This is the archive to that account, mostly password protected, adult, queer content, stripped of photo content after the site restructured its photo hosting feature. I hope to restore that content as well.

If I know you, ask for the password. If I don’t, hope for a generous mood.

08.18.24 I have realized a need to continue in this space. A kink reawaking if you will, with content that may range into inappropriate for my other blog spaces.

    19×30 – jewelry

Last weekend, a local metal sculptor had pieces in the Slap-n-Tickle auction.

I should know better. One of his items was this ring. I tried it on my finger. Dammit! It fit me. Well. And on my ‘fat’ hand, too. There are some things in the world that are difficult to walk away from when they fit a person of my size. I was taught very quickly about leather off-the-rack: when it fits you like someone made it to do so, one does not walk away from it. It would seem the same applies jewelry.

I did a quick add-up of my expenses until next payday. I placed the minimum bid and no one else bid over top of me. Things will be tight until Thursday, but – come on – look at this thing. It is wrought iron set into a sterling silver channel. The green inset is ground malachite in epoxy.

    Fabulous!

    18×30 – moving on

Kuma and I just saw David and Patrick to the van. They are off and moving on to Chattanooga tonight.

The studio has felt full the past two days. I enjoy the sensation. Time has been at a crawl. It seems as if the full weekend has already passed and it is only just Saturday. I could use some more weekends like this.

    17×30 – big john

    The boys are all here.

<kumazuki> arrived Thursday morning, before I left for work. <annoyinghandle> and <mudcub> were here by the time I got home.

This morning was breakfast across the street at Jerry’s Woodsweather Cafe, which is no longer on Woodsweather, but now on W 9th…

This is the Big John. I have mentioned it before. Texas toast, hashbrowns, two spicy sausage patties, two eggs, cheese and sausage gravy. All piled up in a heap. I can tell it is pure heaven, because my heart is two steps closer to arriving there…

  • salsa du jour

I like making salsas… They way I make them sometimes, they end up like salads scooped onto a chip, which comes in handy in the summer heat, when I want to still eat healthy, but don’t feel like fixing each and every meal…

Last night I made a new one. I suppose most of my salsas qualify for new, since I seldom work from recipes. I experimented some more this time.

    black-eyed peas
    tomatillos
    sweet red peppers
    banana peppers
    jalapeno peppers
    white and green onions
    cilantro
    italian parsley
    white and apple cider vinegars
    sea salt

I have to say, so far, it smells and looks wonderful, but the taste is a bit bland. Perhaps that will improve with another day of sitting…

The look is great, which can sometimes sell me on a food more than the flavor: bright colors, fresh ingredients. Plus, I know the goodness of the food that is in it, so I will put much away still…

    16×30 – constellations

Welcome to my Northern hemisphere in the summer months…
I wouldn’t call the view clear, but more celestial clusters can be seen here than from any other vantage point.

Welcome to a prominent part of my Irish heritage.
I am told that I need to watch them for changes… o.O
I do not have enough minutes in the day.

    I know, I know… If I don’t I may get cancer…
    Oops! Never mind.

I have watched a good number of them change, typically turning pink and flattening out, resembling scar tissue. Then, eventually, they are gone. Can’t say that I mind that. Maybe about one a year or so, who can say really. Doing a quick count, at this rate, they might all be gone by the ripe old age of 450: a mere child to Methuselah.

    day fifteen – blargh!

    I had a rotten day…

It is increasingly hard to care about things that are making my life unhealthy.
Boy! Does that eliminate most of my current state of being…
