welcome to the hole

Once upon a time, I kept a LiveJournal account, gryphons_hole, a deep, dark, comfy little hole in my brain where I kept notes on my life and queerness.
This is the archive to that account, mostly password protected, adult, queer content, stripped of photo content after the site restructured its photo hosting feature. I hope to restore that content as well.
If I know you, ask for the password. If I don’t, hope for a generous mood.
08.18.24 I have realized a need to continue in this space. A kink reawaking if you will, with content that may range into inappropriate for my other blog spaces.

what a day I shall have…
I am at MCI, waiting for the flight that will take me to my childhood home so that I may pick up my next vehicle.
As I entered the line for security the impact of the day hit me…
I ate breakfast on the way with <lj-user: kumazuki>, who is staying at the studio this weekend on his way back home from travelling about the Great Lakes region…
I will have lunch in ATL with on a four hour layover.
I will finish the day in CLE with my oldest friends gathered together for a grilling potluck at my parents.
How lucky am I that I can have a day such as this…?

omgs!omgs!omgs!omgs!

Wow-o-wow-o-wow!
How many of you remember my posing for Dr. Sketchy’s back in January…? It looked a little bit like this:

Anyway… what I never got around to posting is that the Pi Gallery (in close proximity to my Apryl’s Slap-n-Tickle) had a show featuring images from and inspired by Dr. Sketchy’s KCMO back in July. <dakoopst> and I took in the show along with a great brunch during his visit this summer.
In the show were these fantastic boxes, similar in size and shape to cigar boxes, but they were adorned with wood-burnt images and color stains… One of them was titled Candyman and, you may have guessed it, was inspired by the above costume and pose…

OMGs! right…? At the time, I was whoring myself out to afford Delta, so the additional purchase was out of the question, even though the proprietress of Pi offers lay-away. When I didn’t get back before the show went down, I was upset. I should have scraped up enough for a down-payment. Here’s more of it:

Yeah… I know! This has all the makings of a regret and I don’t get those often.
So, now that the backstory has caught up to now, I stopped at the Pi this morning for bunch and to catch Apryl up on my trip to camp. (Yeah, she’s naughty, too…) As it turns out, the artist that make the boxes is having her own show at the Pi this month. I didn’t pick up on it at first as I didn’t recognize her name from the previous show. Anyway, I was kicked out of the gallery to the back patio momentarily, which I found odd, but I joined friends out there in waiting for my food.
Then I was handed a FedEx box… I was completely unaware!
Guess what was inside…? Go on!
Jody (the owner of Pi) and Apryl and a few others in the art circle surrounding the East Crossroads pooled together and got me the Candyman box! OMGs!
*squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*
This and invited to Delta. I have the best sort of friends everywhere.
My life is full.
Oh! One more thing:
I have spoken with the Dr Sketchy’s KCMO hostess and we have agreed: Grpyhon van der Hole will be reappearing on stage this fall/winter. This time, I will be performing the burlesque number as well.
This past week, I decided that the concept of a candyman would be involved (yes! prior to the gift of this beautiful box!) I found a mash-up on youtube of the Andrew Sisters’ Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Christina Aguilera’s Candyman. It is a perfect concept, although that version has that bothersome Mamba Number Five stuff stuck in at the end… If I can find or encourage the making of a version that is more equal parts of both of the first two songs, I could really do something with it…
Hmmm…
