    welcome to the hole

Once upon a time, I kept a LiveJournal account, gryphons_hole, a deep, dark, comfy little hole in my brain where I kept notes on my life and queerness.

This is the archive to that account, mostly password protected, adult, queer content, stripped of photo content after the site restructured its photo hosting feature. I hope to restore that content as well.

If I know you, ask for the password. If I don’t, hope for a generous mood.

08.18.24 I have realized a need to continue in this space. A kink reawaking if you will, with content that may range into inappropriate for my other blog spaces.

  • state of the closet 2010

    Good evening!

First, I would like to apologize for the late timing of this address. I thought it imperative to not interrupt more important events, such as the season opener of Lost

Second, I would like to thank you all for tuning in as I report on the state of the closet for the year 2010. I will make every effort to address your concerns and cover the gains, and loses, of this past year.
cut for many images of the state of things in, er, the closet…

  • the foot affair – update

I spoke with my doctor again yesterday, just prior to leaving for work.

This is what he told me:

    • Yes, Keflex most often is not effective for MRSA, but it was not part of the screening when he sent out the culture, meaning that there are strains of MRSA that are not resistant to Keflex.
    • Since he did a cut and drain, it is quite possible that enough of the infection was emptied out of the wound that my body fought off the rest.

Either way, he said the physical state of my foot indicates the end of the infection better than the typical implications.

I will finish the prescription he gave me and plan a follow-up to be sure.

As for the fighting off of it once the bulk is removed, I can believe that. I mean, really, my body starts fighting off my own sweat on a regular basis. Seriously. Between HIV and the results of the chemotherapy, my body doesn’t like much of the world hanging out on its surface…

Oh, yeah, yesterday was the sixth anniversary of the day I started chemotherapy. I think I am happy to see the dates of that event diminishing in my head. I think…

  • the tootsie affair

I just got off the phone with my doctor.

The bad news: The infection I developed on my foot tested as MRSA. Ugh.

The good news: Having strong reactions to the antibiotics to which MRSA is typically resistant, he had prescribed for me an antibiotic that has already cleared up the infection. I have half the script to go, but seriously, the wounds is all dried out and closed up and no pain what-so-ever. He was happy to hear that. This particular antibiotic doesn’t have any screens run to show its effectiveness against MRSA, but when I described the wound to him, he felt no need to change course at this point…

The stuff is Cephalexin. The brand name is Keflex.

Of course, in using the power of the interwebs, I read that Keflex shouldn’t be able to treat MRSA, so I put a call back in to my docotr to make this thing is getting blasted away.

    Dammit.

So much for that bubble of mine.

  • weekend style – the closest I can manage to keeping a puppy edition

Back from First Friday at the Slap-N-Tickle.

I am surly from a long day, a bad week and an aching foot. I hope the sartorial choices help to make up for the look on my face…

One of the group’s dogs recently had a litter and the Slap-N-Tickle has landed a puppy. When I stopped by there earlier to drop off stuff, I understood that Kismet had forever broken my heart for her sheer and utter spunk and cuteness. Holy… *whew*

But I understand myself and the place I am in my life. I do not have the room or willing commitment for a pet. So, last week, I got the next best thing: a new-to-me fuzzy collar. *squee* This was has an awesome quilted backing and stitched-on pin posts with ‘gawddammit’ backs, so I can move it from jacket to jacket lickety-split.

The necktie was a new-to-me find last week as well. The collar adornment is a re-purposed sweater clip gifted to me from  over the holidays. The look in my face tells me I was exhausted. The fact that I forgot collar stays tells me I am off my mark…

Still, I am quite giddy about the over-all. The palette makes me *squee* and the range of tactile pleasures got me petted and stroked by all sorts throughout the evening. Color matching does something inside of my head. Seriously. It isn’t an obsessive thing; not like I can’t leave the studio if it is off… but when something hits another garment dead-on like, say, the deep blue-green of the roundel on the necktie pattern matching identically to the shirt… Yeah, that stuff makes my head swirl with giddiness and delight; something that is oozing into my kink and sexuality these days. This is something that I adore.

Tomorrow is brunch at the Tickle and Saturday-after-First-Friday-that-isn’t-always-First-Saturday-because-somethings-it’s-Second-Saturday…

    *whew*

Someone needs to properly name that thing.

    *smooch*

  • omgs! omgs! omgs!

    OMGosh! Oh, goody!

I am the newest proud owner of an original Lori Raye Erickson…!

She is the incredible painter across my floor… About every once a year or so, she channels this great gay-boy sex vibe and makes the most incredible gay erotic versions of her art. The last two years yielded pieces clean outside of my price range. One of which still makes me quiver and on slight occasionally sob for not owning…

Well.. Let me tell you! The piece she submitted to the Slap-N-Tickle’s Annual Erotic Show…? OMGosh! Dirty.

She has a thing for monkeys. She has a thing for monkey sock puppets. She has a thing for nasty and questionable social boundaries…

She also has a thing for occasionally turning doodles into great little watercolor pieces….

This one? She put all of that into it.

I made Apryl draw the little red ‘sold’ dot on the tag when I dropped off my stuff earlier. I didn’t even wait for the competition.
    Holy crap!

Photos to come, when I can bring it home to roost.
