passing the G

I recently made mention of my Aunt Dee, whom I saw over the holiday trip home to Ohio. She is my favorite aunt; the one that makes everything more fun. She is the one crazy enough to make all those freakin’ layers of jello between cream layers for that rainbow jello thingie growing up… (My mom was a one color jello with a can of fruit kind of gal…) I suspect that Aunt Dee may have sported go-go boots through much of the sixties…

Anyway, during our conversations, she commented on my stepped-up manner of dress. We got to talking about clothes and such, and I mentioned dad gifted me his old jewelry box and grabbed it to show her all the great cuff-links I found with (lj-user) at the antique market in Columbus…

She mentioned that her late husband (one of my dad’s older brothers) had some monogrammed cuff-links that she hadn’t gotten to yet in going through his things. She said she would send them along to me when she uncovered them.

They were waiting in my mailbox when I arrived home from work today…

The monogrammed pair are mother-of-pearl. Of course, it does come in handy to have a pseudonym that shares an initial with your family name… LOL

To note, the copper pair are actual pennies, a matched pair only just one year younger than I am.
