Son Sung Vietnamese Bistro is strongly in my top three favorite places to eat in town. YJ’s and Grinders are the other two, with the Jerusalem Deli a close fourth…

In fact, it would seem that Son Sung is the place I most like to go when guests are visiting from out of town. <kumazuki>, <mudcub>, <annoyinghandle> and <dakoopst> have all joined me there. They have the best spring rolls! (The non-fried variety…)

Anyway, some time back, I had noticed that they reorganized their lunches, turning to a buffet and noodle bar format for the midday service. Not much likelihood of me ever getting there during the week.

Today, I took advantage of my therapist’s location being mere blocks from the place.

I am happy. My tummy is happy.
I may have over eaten, which I tend to do at buffets, but so much of their buffet was fresh salads and cold dishes, so I don’t feel so heavy about it all. The buffet also has their fantastic spring rolls, although a more diminuitive version. It offers a good mix of traditional Chinese buffet dishes and lighter, fresh takes on various Vietnamese option. The noodle bar was great, I chose a soup with pork and clear noodles. Yummy. It had a generous amount of sprouts, basil, cilantro and onions to accompany the noodles and meat.

Yay! for new meals at favorite places.
