19×30 – jewelry

Last weekend, a local metal sculptor had pieces in the Slap-n-Tickle auction.

I should know better. One of his items was this ring. I tried it on my finger. Dammit! It fit me. Well. And on my ‘fat’ hand, too. There are some things in the world that are difficult to walk away from when they fit a person of my size. I was taught very quickly about leather off-the-rack: when it fits you like someone made it to do so, one does not walk away from it. It would seem the same applies jewelry.

I did a quick add-up of my expenses until next payday. I placed the minimum bid and no one else bid over top of me. Things will be tight until Thursday, but – come on – look at this thing. It is wrought iron set into a sterling silver channel. The green inset is ground malachite in epoxy.

Fabulous!
